Comedy for CARY: An April Fool's Preview is Great Success
Two hundred (200) guests joined CARY at Esther's Follies on Sunday, March 27, for an evening of laughter and entertainment. Comedy for CARY began with a reception with a silent auction and appetizers from Siena Ristorante Toscano, Miles of Chocolate, Central Market, Sweetish Hill Bakery, Serranos, P. F. Chang's & McCormack & Schmick's.
Special thanks goes to Texas State Rep. Elliott Naishtat for his opening remarks and to host Shannon Sedwick of Esther's Follies for emceeing the show. Bob King, former board chair, was honored before the show by Joan Hilgers, current board chair, and Adrian L. Moore, Executive Director.
We thank our sponsors and donors for their generous support (see list under Donors and Sponsors). We also thank our volunteers for their invaluable help.

"CARY Blues & All That Jazz" on June 26th was Music to our Ears!
Thanks to all the supporters and volunteers who joined Toni Price, Hannibal Lukumbe and Leeann Atherton at Antone's for an evening of fabulous music and silent auction! CARY wants to especially thank the staff of Antone's for their help with CARY's first music benefit. You can check out great Austin music at www.antones.net.
Our silent auction included a rare, uncorrected proof of Sarah Bird's newest book, a pair of tickets to see Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison, 2 tickets to a lunchtime performance with Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt at KGSR's Music Lounge, dinners at Cafe Josie, Cantina Laredo, Hudson's on the Bend, P.F. Chang's, Siena & Truluck's and wonderful gift certificates and gift baskets! (list of auction donors soon)

CARY Receives $8,000 from "Golf for Charity" at Twin Creeks Country Club
May 23 was a perfect day for golf at Twin Creeks Country Club! Over 90 participants played at the Richard P. Slaughter Associates' annual "Golf for Charity." Many thanks to all the golf teams, many for the 3rd year, and to the enthusiastic volunteers with Richard P. Slaughter Associates!
A barbecue lunch followed the tournament with awards and a book signing by Joe Black, past president of the PGA of America. The tournament also benefited two other charities - For the Love of Christi and Texas Parent to Parent.
